Time to Engage! The concept of Web 2.0 in its most basic sense it refers to the new definition of the web which includes user generated content that is shareable.
Long gone are the days of viewing a static website – consumers now have a great power to voice their opinions about brands via user generated content (UGC). This content could be in the form of reviews in blog posts, a YouTube video or even a simple tweet. Conversely, if brands choose to listen to their consumers, they will have a greater advantage to leverage this info to be awesome… otherwise they can suffer in not being awesome (see the latest case study in failing miserably at social media: Boners BBQ).
Web 2.0 is more relevant now than ever, especially with the mobile web having a huge impact how people interact with each other and with brands. Although the following video is five years old, it still carries the same message about how we interact online today.
